Barrientos Scholarship Foundation Awards $600 Scholarship at Casa de la Cultura’s ‘Las Posadas’ Event

On December 5, the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation, a Lozafina client and one of the event's proud sponsors, raffled off a $600 scholarship at Casa de la Cultura’s annual Las Posadas celebration. The event, at the Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center in Stockyards Plaza, brought together over 100 community members across Omaha for an evening of cultural exchange, connection, and holiday cheer.

The celebration featured live entertainment, festive activities, and delicious offerings from local favorites, including Toximiche, Maria Bonita Mexican Cuisine, Chiltepes Restaurant, Latin Bites, and Taqueria and Pupeseria Miranda.

One of the evening’s most memorable moments came during Casa de la Cultura’s CEO Marcos Mora’s heartfelt remarks, setting the stage for the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation’s highlight of the night: the raffle of a $600 scholarship to a deserving student. This scholarship reflects the foundation’s mission to empower Latino youth and support their educational journeys.

“It’s an honor to support the next generation of leaders who will shape a brighter future for our community,” said Tony Aguilera, president of the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation.

The foundation expressed gratitude to Casa de la Cultura for providing the opportunity to share its mission and make a meaningful impact during this cherished event. For nearly a decade, the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation has worked to cultivate a better Omaha by uplifting talented Latino youth, equipping them with resources and opportunities to reach their full potential. These efforts ensure that students not only succeed personally but also contribute significantly to the broader community.
