Carmen Tapio Named 2023 Woman of the Year at Inspire Awards Luncheon

At the heart of Omaha's thriving business community stands Carmen Tapio. This year, at the second annual Inspire Awards Luncheon, Carmen was celebrated as the 2023 Woman of the Year, a testament to her relentless drive, vision, and commitment to her community.

Carmen, the president and CEO of North End Teleservices, was recognized among a distinguished group of ten women. The event, hosted by The Omaha World-Herald, was held at the CHI Health Center Arena.

Beyond her role at North End Teleservices, Carmen has founded Forever North Real Estate and the NET Work Spot. She's played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Nebraska Black Women United. Last year's Inspire Awards recognized her sterling achievements by selecting her for the Excellence in Business (Large) award. She was also in the spotlight as a finalist for the 2022 Woman of the Year.

Excellence in Business (Large): Megan Belcher of Scoular

Excellence in Business (Small-Medium): Monique Farmer of Avant Solutions

Excellence in Health Care: Jen Tran of Methodist Health System

Excellence in Education: Deb Carlson of Nebraska Methodist College

Excellence in Public Service: Morgan Keegan of Girls Inc.

Community Volunteer Award: Carol Russell

Visionary Award: Yareli Garcia of Prestige Cleaning

Emerging Leader Award: Yajaira Gonzalez of the University of Nebraska at Omaha

Inspire Scholarship: Monserrat Medina Hernandez, University of Nebraska at Omaha

The Inspire Awards Luncheon not only celebrates individual achievements but also underscores the collective strength, resilience, and brilliance of women who are shaping the future of Nebraska.
