Lozafina, EPIC for Girls’ Mission Featured in The EO Report

By Xitlally Velasco

The EO Report recently featured Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations in its Thanksgiving edition, “Stories We Are Thankful For.” In the newsletter, CEO Josefina Loza shared how Lozafina partnered with its nonprofit client EPIC for Girls to bring their Share Omaha Giving Tuesday campaign to life.

“While creating materials for the Giving Tuesday campaign,” Loza said, “we initially explored using stock images to depict young girls in sports. However, we quickly hit a barrier: a glaring lack of stock imagery representing girls of color in sports settings.”

Loza selected EPIC for Girls’ “Access. Advocate. Activate.” fundraising campaign for its diligent efforts in representing girls of color in sports. She told The EO Report: “It was a stark reminder of why. our client’s mission is so critical - not only to increase participating for girls of color in sports but also to entire they see themselves celebrated and empowered.”

In the spirit of the gratitude season, we encourage you to read the piece “How Lozafina is Creating Affirmations of Belonging,” which is a prime example of storytelling and strategic communications that the EO Report seeks to highlight in its newsletter. The EO Report, presented by Erin Owen, is a weekly newsletter with strategic communication insights. Owen is a strategic communications consultant with over 25 years of experience and founder of Clarity Channels Communications.

“At Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations, we believe that representation is more than just a buzzword — it’s a powerful tool for change,” wrote Loza. The feature takes a deep dive into the critical need for more visual representation of girls of color in sports and the citywide photoshoot with several sports organizations that partner with EPIC for Girls that Lozafina quickly took action in assembling.
