EPIC for Girls Scores Big in #GivingTuesday402 Campaign
EPIC for Girls, an Omaha-based non-profit organization, recently concluded Share Omaha’s #GivingTuesday402 campaign with remarkable results. The campaign, which aimed to raise $5,000 to support programming for young girls of color in sports, surpassed its goal by raising $7,520. This achievement highlights the community's support for the organization's mission.
Kimberly Thomas, the Executive Director of EPIC for Girls, acknowledged the campaign's success, noting it exceeded her expectations. The outcome of this fundraiser is significant for EPIC for Girls, as it reflects the community's endorsement of their efforts to use sports as a tool for empowerment and growth.
The fundraising campaign, named "Empower Her Game," not only achieved its financial objectives but also drew attention to the need for more opportunities for girls of color in sports. Historically, these groups have been underrepresented in sports, and the funds raised are expected to help address this gap. The proceeds will enhance the capability of EPIC for Girls' program partners to provide diverse and inclusive sporting opportunities.
It's important to note that at the close of Wednesday, the partial donation total for the broader #GivingTuesday402 campaign is currently $3,284,038. However, this figure does not include all donations yet – such as gifts through community foundations, individual nonprofit websites, and offline gifts – and may also include endowment funds and matches.
