How an Old Concert Plug Sparked a Movement for Neurodiversity with Celebrity Skater Kyle "Push" Dutcher

Every now and then, the universe has a way of looping people back into your life… like a favorite track on repeat.

Back when I was nightlife columnist at the Omaha World-Herald, there were names that lit up the scene. Promoters, DJs, venue owners - people who moved through the city like heartbeat monitors, keeping culture alive. One of those names was Aaron Patterson. If there was a show that had energy, edge, and a packed crowd, chances were Aaron was behind it.

Fast forward to today, I’m running Lozafina, helping brands find their voice and tell their stories, when out of nowhere, I get a LinkedIn notification about an event happening in Omaha this spring (well definitely get to that later) that I thought would make a great story for Lozafina’s community page.

Little did I realize that the Aaron Patterson Sr. I messaged with was the same Aaron Patterson from my past. I smiled after reading this message.

“Good morning, Josefina!
Thank you for reaching out! I would absolutely love to connect. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years since our last interaction! It’s amazing how things come full circle. Just let me know when you’re available, and we can set up a time to chat.
Looking forward to catching up!”

It’s been years... Bruh, he broke out the “it’s been almost 20 years". I was dead. The dots started to connect. The last time we probably crossed paths was under the glow of venue lights, me scribbling notes between music sets.

We caught up. Turns out Aaron’s work has evolved in beautiful ways. He’s still creating impactful experiences, but now with a heart even bigger than the shows he used to throw. And then he tells me about something insanely cool.

He's hosting a powerful, inspiring event for Neurodiversity and Autism Awareness Month called Push Through: A Fireside Chat on Embracing Neurodiversity.

This is not just another gathering. It’s a movement. A celebration. A moment of reflection and joy.

The spotlight? Kyle 'Push' Dutcher, a celebrity skate instructor, viral skating sensation, and passionate advocate for Tourette Syndrome awareness. Aaron and Push are teaming up for a fireside chat, diving into Push’s incredible journey from Hollywood lights to becoming a voice for inclusion and empowerment.

And it's not just talk, this is a whole vibe. After the chat, guests are invited to lace up and hit the Omaha Riverfront Skate Ribbon for a community skate, backed by a live DJ, food trucks, and bounce houses for the kiddos (thanks to An Amazing Bounce Party). It’s a family-friendly experience with heart.

Even better? A portion of the proceeds goes to the Tourette Association of America, supporting research, education, and vital community resources.

Let this be a reminder: Sometimes, the people we meet in one chapter of life come back in another, with even greater purpose. Cheers to the reconnections that matter, and the stories worth sharing.

See you at the ribbon.
