“In the Heights” in need of cast members to continue its production

The Omaha Community Playhouse is desperately seeking to cast several roles by next Friday for its upcoming performance based on “In the Heights.” 

“We have many faces that are new to OCP committed to this show, and we’re excited to complete casting and bring this show to the community,” said Katie Broman, executive director of the Omaha Community Playhouse.

In the Heights” is a 2021 American musical drama film directed by Jon M. Chu from a screenplay by Quiara Alegría Hudes with music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It’s a film version of the Broadway musical in which Usnavi, a sympathetic New York bodega owner, saves every penny every day as he imagines and sings about a better life.

Rebecca Kritzer is the director and choreographer for this production, with Boston Reid as the music director. 

Rehearsals start on April 16; the production dates are June 2- June 25, 2023. Cast members will receive a compensation of $700.
