Omaha Education Association Expands Listening Tour to Strengthen Community Voice in Education

The Omaha Education Association (OEA) is on a mission to elevate the voices of educators, parents, and community partners through its ongoing Listening Tour, a series of interactive sessions designed to shape the future of public education in Omaha.

As the local affiliate of the Nebraska State Education Association (NSEA) and the National Education Association (NEA) – America’s largest and oldest organization advocating for public education –  OEA is committed to ensuring that the experiences and insights of educators and families guide policies and initiatives in local schools.

“We know that real change starts with listening,” OEA President Kathy Poehling stated in the organization’s February newsletter. This tour is about creating space for authentic conversations, ensuring educators and parents have a say in the decisions that impact their students and classrooms.”
