Omaha Model Yaretzy Soto Garcia Reveals Her Biggest Life Obsessions

MY FIVE: A series where we ask Omahans to share their five favorite things

By Xitlally Velasco

We would like you to meet Yaretzy Soto Garcia, an Omaha model, photographer and digital content creator.

Keep scrolling to learn about her top five life essentials!

1. Joy.

Feeling joy is a major thing for me. No matter how rough life gets, I always need to stay positive. I know that certain people are not used to looking on the bright side of things; therefore, I love to accommodate them and make them feel safe. Life is not supposed to be full of remorse but of joy. I need joy, and joy needs me!

2. Makeup.

I absolutely love doing my makeup. I'm sure it's the art and creativity I find in it, but I'm also a huge girly girl, so it just depends. I'm really passionate about fashion and being stylish in any event. I want to look good and feel good at all times.

3. My Cat.

Although she doesn't really like the idea of being kissed and snuggled most of the time, Michi is my baby. Quote me when I say this: Cats over dogs any day. Michi comforts me ALL the time. Her soft, fluffy white fur distracts me, especially when I get nightmares at night. She's a big sleeper, so we're a perfect match.

4. Water.

I have to thank water for perfect, glowy, clear skin! My go-to combo is a tall glass of water with ice in the morning, afternoon and night; water just hits every time, specifically around 4:00 a.m. A year ago, I was struggling with my appearance, and I desperately needed to lose weight. Three soda cans a day got cut out of my life, and drinking only water made me feel healthier, have better skin and have brighter dark spots. Water is my best friend.

5. Phone.

I love it specifically for taking photos and remembering every adventure that made me who I am today is everything to me. No storage definitely kills my vibe, though, haha.
