PGA’s Korn Ferry Tour Names EPIC for Girls as Charity of the Year

We have some fantastic news about our client, EPIC for Girls, that we’re excited to share. They've just been named Charity of the Year by the Korn Ferry Tour at the annual PGA TOUR Tournament Meetings.

EPIC for Girls is this amazing nonprofit based in Omaha, and they're all about empowering girls of color in sports. Their dedication and hard work really shone through at the Pinnacle Bank Championship. They didn't just show up; they made a splash! Raising over $8,500 and rallying nearly 100 volunteers who rocked it at various hospitality bars and concessions. The vibe they brought? Absolutely infectious!

And you’ve got to hear what Kimberly Thomas, the Executive Director of EPIC for Girls, had to say:

This recognition as Charity of the Year is not just for EPIC for Girls, but for every volunteer, partner, and supporter who believes in our mission. It’s a celebration of our collective effort to empower young female athletes, ensuring they have the resources and confidence to excel in sports and in life.”

Thomas was over the moon, but not just for the organization. She made it clear this was a win for every single person who’s been part of their journey. It’s all about empowering young female athletes to shine in sports and life. Pretty inspiring, right?

Let’s talk numbers for a sec - they had 95 volunteers doing 137 shifts. That's over 600 hours of volunteer time! Plus, 30 businesses and nonprofits joined in. And the cherry on top? They raised a whopping $8,510.50 in tips. That money's going straight into EPIC's Partner Programs, helping more girls of color in sports.

Now, don’t think they’re resting on their laurels. EPIC for Girls is already buzzing with plans for next year’s event. They're determined to make it even more fun and uplifting, especially at the 18th Hole.

Kimberly Thomas put it perfectly: "Our journey doesn’t stop here. We’re pumped for what the future holds and can’t wait to see everyone again next year.”

A little about EPIC for Girls – they're not just about sports. They're changing the game by providing BIPOC girls with education, mentorship, and the confidence to succeed through the funding the nonprofit provides to community partners. It's all about leveling the playing field.
