The Story Behind the Pitch: Landing Lozafina a Spot on National TV

“Sharing my story on national TV was an honor, a chance to inspire others to recognize the value in putting themselves first, to chase their dreams without losing sight of their own needs.”

  • Josefina Loza, CEO of Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations

The concept of taking a moment for self-reflection, let alone self-care, seemed almost foreign to me. I'm Josefina Loza, the heart and soul behind Lozafina, and this is the story of how I decided to pitch not just another story, but myself - leading to a moment of unexpected transformation on national TV.

Understanding My Story

The journey began with a realization: as much as I was achieving professionally, a part of me was wilting in the shadows. The demands of entrepreneurship and motherhood had eclipsed my personal needs. Inspired by the media pitching guide we advocate at Lozafina, I decided it was time to apply these principles to my own story. It wasn't just about seeking a makeover or refresher; it was about narrating the journey of countless women who sacrifice self-care in the pursuit of their dreams.

Researching My Target

Tamron Hall's show was the perfect platform. Known for its deep dives into personal stories and transformative experiences, I knew it could resonate with my narrative. I became a student of the show, analyzing its themes and understanding its audience, ensuring my pitch would not just be seen but felt.

Crafting and Personalizing My Pitch

The pitch was personal, filled with the raw truths of my life. It detailed my struggle with balancing the demands of being a single mother and an entrepreneur, and how my personal care had taken a backseat. The tone was honest, humble, and open to transformation. I aimed to connect with Tamron and especially her team of producers on a personal level, acknowledging their own journey and the impact Tamron has had on her audience.

Multimedia and Follow-Up

Alongside my pitch, I included a video - a visual testament to the need for change. It was a candid reflection of my day-to-day life, showing the beauty of my struggle but also the reality of my neglect. Following the tips I've always believed in, I followed up, respecting the time and space of the show's producers.

The Moment of Acceptance

The response was more than I could have ever hoped for. Being selected for the show was not just an affirmation of my story's relevance but a testament to the power of a well-crafted pitch. It reminded me that we all have stories worth telling, and with the right approach, the world is ready to listen.

The Transformation

The experience on the Tamron Hall Show was transformative, both inwardly and outwardly. It was a moment of rebirth, an opportunity to pause and reflect on my journey, to embrace the change, and to emerge renewed. It symbolized the importance of self-care and the strength in vulnerability.

Sharing the Journey

Sharing my story on national TV was an honor, a chance to inspire others to recognize the value in putting themselves first, to chase their dreams without losing sight of their own needs. It was a reminder that even in the relentless hustle of life, moments of self-care are not just necessary; they are deserved.

The Lesson Learned

This journey taught me the importance of storytelling, not just in marketing or public relations but in life. We all have narratives that can inspire, connect, and transform. By applying the principles of a good pitch to our own lives, we can open doors to unexpected opportunities and moments of profound change.

So, to anyone feeling lost in the shuffle of their ambitions, remember: your story is powerful, your needs are valid, and sometimes, the most impactful pitch you can make is the one that advocates for yourself.
