The Ultimate Taco Festival Hits Bellevue with Music, Lucha Libre, and Tequila!
Can you imagine an all-you-can-eat taco festival? Concerts, large bouncy houses, and an unforgettable Lucha Libre performance, all accompanied by fresh margaritas?
You can stop imagining now because thanks to Las Chingonas Entertainment and Falconwood Park, this event will come true on July 13!
Julia Carrillo, Co-founder of Las Chingonas Entertainment, shared her excitement about hosting this event.
“I am most excited about bringing our diverse community together to have a great time!” Julia exclaimed.
The Midwest Tacos & Tequila Fest, a new hopefully annual event, will feature non-stop live music from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with genres ranging from Mariachi and Hip Hop to Blues and Indie Rock. Expect to hear from bands and artists such as Banda Los Nobles, Mariachi Los Galleros, Rosendo Robles, Hector Anchondo, The Real Zebos, M34N STR33T, DJs GriG and JPEG, and the award-winning cover band Secret Weapon.
Food lovers will rejoice with more than 15 food trucks offering non-traditional tacos. Think Cuban, teriyaki, and BBQ tacos, with vendors like Javi’s Tacos, Oso Mix, and Tipico Helado. There's even a taco-eating contest with prizes to be announced!
For families, there’s a dedicated kids’ play zone featuring mesmerizing circus performers from Omaha Circus Arts, stilt and fire performances, and an inflatable kid zone by Hines Glow Entertainment, open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., the kids’ play zone transforms into an adult playground, ensuring fun for all ages throughout the day.
Other exciting activities include Lucha Libre matches, mechanical bull riding by El Toro Rambo, live art installations by local artists, micheladas, and additional local vendors. The event also features a truck show presented in collaboration with the creators of Midwest Truck Inferno.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 11 if purchased in advance, and $5 more for each the day of the event. Children ages 3 and under enter for free. Tickets are available at falconwoodpark.com, Etix, and the Midwest Tacos & Tequila Fest Facebook event page.
“We are excited to announce our partnership this year with Falconwood Park to bring a unique and exciting event to our community like never before,” Carrillo said.
Shannon Claire, executive director and talent buyer of Falconwood Park, stated in a July press release, “It’s been a long-time goal of Falconwood Park to produce more one-day fests and bring more cultural events to the park. This partnership with Las Chingonas Entertainment perfectly captures what we’re setting out to do more of.”
With over 19,000 people RSVP’d on the festival’s Facebook page and a festival grounds capacity of 4,500, the Midwest Tacos & Tequila Fest is set to be a sold-out event in its first year.
