On Saturday, July 20, fulfill your craving for scary stories by hearing from three contributing others to the new novel “The Haunted States of America.”
From The Bookworm’s website:
Kathy Sattem Rygg, representing Nebraska in The Haunted States of America, has published 10 books for kids ages 5-12. She has more than 25 years experience as a writer and editor and is currently the Executive Editor for Edge Publishing in Omaha where she lives with her family and enjoys sharing her love for writing.
William Mockry is proud to represent Kansas in The Haunted States of America anthology. His short story Midnight in the Garden of Eden takes place at one of his favorite Kansas landmarks, the Garden of Eden. He taught 3rd grade for nine years and resides in Lawrence, where he writes for children. His middle-grade novel Ghosts on Ice won the 2023 Kansas/Missouri SCBWI mentorship award.
Mary Reding Shonka grew up (sort of), was educated (questionably), and is now a writer and educator (dreams do come true!) in Iowa, where not one but two Black Angel memorial statues watch over lonely boneyards, inspiring tales of mischief and murder.

The event is free and open to the public.
