The Castle & Cathedral District, in partnership with Metropolitian Community College and the National Willa Cather Center, is highlighting Nebraska’s own Willa Cather during the 15th Annual Art & Literary Festival.
Last year marked the 150th anniversary of Willa Cather's birth. The year also marked the 100th anniversary of her Pulitzer Prize for "One of Ours."
The Festival kicks off at 4:45 at Joslyn Castle, with a fashion presentation Sue McLain of Yesterday’s Lady beginning at 5 pm. Sue will be showcasing vintage clothing spanning nearly two decades, including when Willa Cather was alive and writing.
After the show, there will be live folk music, exhibits, and a visit from the Omaha Public Library Pop Up Truck. At 7:30 pm, the ticketed dramatic reading of Cather’s “One of Ours" will commence.
