Join the Nebraska Writers Collective for its monthly Omaha Poetry Slam at Dry Spokes.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., starting with an open mic followed by the competitive slam. If you complete in the slam, you have to bring three poems.

Slam performers will have up to three minutes in each round to perform and will be judged by five audience members on a scale from 0.0 to 10.0. Top performing poets will move on to the second and third rounds, and the top scorer will win $50. No props, costumes, or music accompaniments will be allowed.

Because the event is open to all ages, there is a zero-tolerance policy for racism, sexism, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, religious discrimination, or otherwise harmful writing or performances.
