What We Learned from the Survey

Through the responses to our survey, we gained some valuable insights into how emerging leaders are navigating the complexities of personal branding and online presence. Here are some key takeaways:

  • Collaboration is Key: Many respondents described their leadership style as "collaborative," emphasizing team involvement in decision-making. This suggests that modern leaders highly value inclusivity and are keen on fostering a sense of shared ownership among their teams.

  • Platform Preferences: LinkedIn emerged as the platform of choice for building personal brands, especially for professional networking and sharing career milestones. Instagram, however, was favored by those who prefer a more visual and narrative-driven approach to connecting with others.

  • Challenges in Building a Personal Brand: One of the biggest challenges respondents faced was balancing personal and professional images online, with many expressing uncertainty about how much of themselves to share. Establishing credibility in new roles and consistently posting content were also recurring concerns.

  • Comfort Level with Self-Promotion: A significant number of participants reported that they are still finding their voice when it comes to promoting their achievements online, and many are cautious about self-promotion. This indicates an opportunity for more guidance and confidence-building in this area.

  • Networking and Feedback: While many respondents are open to feedback and use it for self-improvement, networking remains a challenge. Some find it intimidating, while others are still figuring out how to actively reach out to potential connections.

These insights will guide us in developing future workshops and resources tailored to helping leaders strengthen their online presence, overcome self-promotion hurdles, and network with confidence.
