Hiya to Launch Teen Magazine at a Community-Wide Event
Teen entrepreneur Alejandra Wells, the founder of Hiya, a mental health organization committed to empowering youth, will launch a teen magazine on Oct. 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Omaha Sports and Games Company, 725 N. Skyline Dr., in Elkhorn.
The free event will focus on celebrating teens through sports, recreation and mental health awareness, providing a fun and engaging environment for young people to come together.
In line with World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10, Hiya is taking this opportunity to spotlight the importance of mental well-being for teens. As part of this launch celebration, Hiya will select a group of teen influencers from the event attendees, inviting them to become brand ambassadors and advocate for positive mental health among their peers.
Hiya’s mission is to create a supportive and safe space for teens to discuss mental health, offering tools and resources that empower them to take charge of their emotional well-being. The organization fosters community, resilience and open conversations around mental health to help young people thrive.
Attendees can participate in various sports and recreational activities, such as basketball, shuffleboard, skeeball, foosball, electronic darts, golf simulator, ping-pong, bubble hockey, cornhole, disc golf, football and networking; the event aims to promote both physical and mental well-being. Teens are encouraged to RSVP by visiting the Hiya Eventbrite page for admission tickets.
