Lozafina is proud to recognize our client, Casa de la Cultura, for their outstanding achievement in being awarded the prestigious 2023 Henry Fonda Award—Nebraska’s highest tourism honor. This recognition, presented by Director John Ricks and Lt. Gov. Joe Kelly, highlights Casa de la Cultura’s dedication to promoting tourism and enriching Omaha’s cultural landscape through its iconic Cinco de Mayo Festival.

Casa de la Cultura has worked tirelessly to create events that celebrate culture, tradition, and community. The annual Cinco de Mayo Omaha festival is a testament to this commitment, transforming the historic 24th Street in South Omaha into a lively hub of celebration. Drawing over 250,000 visitors and attendees from six surrounding states, this three-day event has cemented its place as Omaha’s largest festival, showcasing the vibrancy and richness of Latino culture.

The economic impact of Cinco de Mayo Omaha is impressive, contributing $7.5 million to the local economy. The festival not only fosters community spirit but also underscores the significant role Latino culture plays in Omaha’s social and economic sectors, with 65% of attendees identifying as Latino.

At its core, Casa de la Cultura is driven by a mission to build a vibrant and inclusive community. Beyond hosting festivals, the organization empowers future leaders and families, nurturing spaces where diversity and cultural pride can thrive.

“Receiving the Henry Fonda Award is a proud moment for us, but it also reminds us of the importance of our work—creating spaces where everyone can come together, share, and grow,” said CEO and Executive Director of Casa de la Cultura, Marcos Mora. “Our festivals are more than just celebrations of the past; they are a bridge to a future where diversity, unity, and cultural pride are at the forefront.”

Lozafina extends heartfelt congratulations to Casa de la Cultura for this remarkable honor. Their work continues to inspire and bring the Omaha community closer, fostering connections that resonate far beyond each event.
