EPIC for Girls, a nonprofit organization empowering girls of color through sports, education, and mentorship, is pleased to announce "An EPIC Day with Dawn Staley," a special fundraising event featuring American basketball Hall of Fame player Dawn Staley. The event will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the College of Saint Mary Lied Fitness Center located at 7000 South 72nd St.

Dawn Staley is currently the head coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks. She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, NCAA’s all-time steals leader, two-time National Player of the Year, and a five-time WNBA All-Star, to name a few of her remarkable achievements.

Following the luncheon, girls ages 12-18 years will have the opportunity to meet Staley and participate in a mini sports clinic led by collegiate athletes from surrounding colleges, featuring volleyball, basketball, soccer, and golf.

For mentors, The Coaches Corner with Staley will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for coffee and conversation with the former WNBA player. The Premium Meet & Greet with Staley offers exclusive access to meet & greet; both packages include a meal, dessert, and premium reserved seating.

"We are thrilled to welcome Dawn Staley to Omaha and offer attendees the opportunity to hear from someone who has significantly impacted the lives of black and brown girls in sports. In addition, we look forward to seeing young BIPOC girls showcase their talents in our mini-sports clinic. This is a huge win for EPIC and Omaha," said Kimberly Thomas, Executive Director of EPIC for Girls. "This is an event that girls will remember for a lifetime, and we encourage everyone to purchase their tickets early."

Tickets can be purchased here. If you’re interested in sponsoring this event, visit here.

It will be a slam-dunk event, don’t miss it!
