Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually

About EPIC for Girls:
EPIC for Girls is a pioneering non-profit organization dedicated to researching, advocating for, and funding innovative and long-lasting solutions that address inequities in sports for girls of color. With a vision to see Omaha as a thriving sports community that values girls of color in sports, EPIC focuses on strengthening the quality, competitiveness, and accessibility of sports for this demographic through grantmaking, advocacy, and public policy work.
Our target population consists of nonprofit and community-based programs serving girls, primarily girls of color in 3rd through 12th grade, residing East of 72nd Street and qualifying for free and reduced lunch. In 2023, we served 1,800 girls, with 66% identifying as Black/African American, 11% Caucasian, 18% Other/Multi-Racial, 2% Asian, 2% Native American/Indigenous, 6% Other, and 1% unknown. These participants attend school in the Omaha Public School district, with 68% residing in zip codes 68104, 68107, 68110, 68111, 68134, and 68122. Currently, EPIC provides programming funding to 23 organizations in various sports such as soccer, dance, basketball, softball, gymnastics, long-distance cycling, golf, boxing, and volleyball.
Position Overview:
EPIC for Girls seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Programs & Strategic Partnerships. This role is pivotal in advancing EPIC’s mission by forging strategic collaborations and advocating for policies that enhance sports opportunities for girls of color in Omaha. The Director will cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders and other non-profit organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Cultivation and Management:
Facilitate Community of Practice meetings.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
Advocate for policies and initiatives that support equity and inclusion in sports for girls of color at the local, state, and national levels.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, representing EPIC for Girls in meetings, conferences, and events.
Collaborate with partners to develop and implement joint initiatives that promote sports participation, leadership development, and community engagement for girls of color.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand program needs and identify partnership opportunities that support organizational objectives.
Oversee the implementation of partnership agreements, ensuring that deliverables are met and relationships are maintained.
Monitor partnership activities and evaluate their impact on organizational goals, adjusting as needed to optimize outcomes.
Foster a culture of collaboration and partnership across the organization, encouraging teamwork and shared accountability.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Collaborate with internal and external teams to monitor and evaluate the direct and indirect impact of partnership initiatives on girls’ participation, engagement, and outcomes.
Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of partnership programs and inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
Data entry associated with evaluation.
Networking and Outreach:
Attend networking events, conferences, and industry gatherings to identify new partnership opportunities and promote EPIC for Girls’ programs and initiatives.
Represent EPIC in advocacy coalitions, committees, and forums to advocate for policies that support girls’ empowerment and education, amplifying the voices and needs of girls of color in the sports community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, sports management, public health, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic partnerships, fundraising, advocacy, or related fields, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate participation and interaction with community partners.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and CPS/APS registry check.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice, racial equity, and empowerment of marginalized communities, particularly girls of color.
Experience supporting/leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of community-based programs, with experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative research methods within diverse populations.
Proven track record of cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including corporations, foundations, government agencies, and community organizations.
Strong understanding of the sports landscape, particularly as it relates to equity issues and opportunities for girls of color.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, philanthropy, and social impact initiatives.
Passion for girls’ empowerment and a commitment to EPIC for Girls’ mission and values.
Public speaking and/or comfortable speaking to crowds.
Ability to initiate and organize work independently with minimal supervision from a broad set of guidelines and strategies.
