Lozafina & World-Herald Team Up to Find Omaha’s Best Hot Chocolate

Story by Xitlally Velasco

With Omaha’s chilling weather, a creamy and rich hot chocolate is guaranteed to defrost you. But who in Omaha sells a hot chocolate to die for? Omaha World-Herald reporter Betsie Freeman invited Josefina Loza, CEO of Lozafina, and her daughters Alejandra, CEO of Hiya, and Gabi, an upcoming contestant for the citywide science fair on a hot chocolate tour, to see for themselves.

The four testers visited nine shops across the city to experience the best hot drinks and shared their journey in the newspaper’s Saturday Living section. The feature highlighted each location and its hot chocolate offers. While they couldn’t choose a favorite, they did leave descriptive reviews for you to consider before your next sweet purchase.

Locations visited:

  • Karma Koffee, 587 N. 155th Plaza.

  • Chocolate Abeille, 555 Cornhusker Road, Suite 210

  • Edge of the Universe, 6070 Maple St.
