Mi Casa es su Casa Returns: Casa de la Cultura To Host Cultural Event at Isla del Mar

Story by Xitlally Velasco

Casa de la Cultura is proud to bring back its Mi Casa es su Casa cultural event, making this year’s extra special as it joins its lineup of celebrations that honor 105 years of Mexican festivals in Omaha.

In the past, Mi Casa es su Casa has collaborated with beloved local establishments like Victor’s Mexican Restaurante 2 and Supermercado Nuestra Familia. This year, Casa de la Cultura is taking its guests to South Omaha’s Isla del Mar Restaurant, a family-owned gem at 5101 S 36th St, on Thursday, March 6, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

The networking event effortlessly blends business with culture with door prizes, a complimentary drink, delicious appetizers handpicked from Isla del Mar’s seafood menu, and you can’t forget the classic chips and salsa. Alexis y sus Caballeros Mariachi will fill the space with traditional music to continue the lively atmosphere.

Tickets are $25, and students can attend free using the coupon code STUDENT24. This event is proudly sponsored by the Latino Economic Development Council of Omaha and the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation
