Destiny Cafe, established by Joan Allen, is a restaurant that gives people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to gain employment and receive training in order to improve their overall job prospects in the community.

We pride ourselves on understanding the essence of our clients' narratives and helping them amplify their voices in impactful ways. Our recent collaboration with EPIC for Girl, a noble non-profit committed to opening doors of sports opportunities for girls of color, highlighted a profound gap in the media representation of these girls.

But as with all challenges, it presented an opportunity – and we grabbed it wholeheartedly!

Many of you might be aware of my recent decision to step away from my position at the university. While it was a deeply considered choice and not taken lightly, I did it for my sanity.

There's something particularly thrilling about a dynamic new partnership, especially when two powerhouses unite to embark on a creative journey. We are overjoyed to announce that Josefina Loza of Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations and Danelle Schlegelmilch of Passport PR have joined forces to bring you an innovative venture, Maven Media Collaborative.

Two dozen or so eager individuals gathered Saturday at the Great Plains Black History Museum in Omaha for what was destined to be a compelling afternoon.

It was not just another day at the Native Omaha Days Festival; it marked an intimate meeting of minds at a fireside chat featuring Omaha author Anthony J. Gould, moderated by Josefina Loza, CEO of Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations.

Jess Fernandez-Erazo is quite the community leader who has developed a rich desire to help others and be a voice for the voiceless. She’s a fierce addition to the Hiya team and we’re thrilled to have her.
