Celebrating Alejandra Wells: Honored as a 20 Under 20 NE and Distinguished Award Recipient

Join Wells on Saturday, August 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yates Illuminates to celebrate her achievements!

With great joy, the Lozafina team congratulates our young client, Alejandra Wells, CEO and Founder of Hiya, for being named an award recipient for The Bloc’s 20 under 20 Nebraska Awards.

Wells, 16, of Hiya, a mental health advocacy jewelry line, has always been someone who breaks the mold and sets new standards with her unique flair. This award, which is focused on growth and resilience, honors 20 young leaders under the age of 20 who not only overcome challenges but also turn them into powerful opportunities for growth. Wells embodies this spirit perfectly, transforming obstacles into stepping stones for success.

Wells recently embarked on a trip to Bari, Italy, in July to take center stage at the International Children's Advisory Network's 2024 Global Summit. She presented her research, titled "Bridging the Gap: Teen Mental Health Resources, Peer-Led Advocacy," and utilized Hiya as a case study to explore the effectiveness of peer-led models in improving mental health resource accessibility and reducing stigma among teenagers. Hiya aims to support teens directly and raise awareness of mental health issues through a “Buy One, Give One” model and innovative peer-led initiatives such as workshops, group activities, teen talks, poster campaigns, and a newly launched teen magazine.

Wells was also chosen as The Bloc’s Distinguished Award Recipient for her work with Hiya.

“I am so grateful to not only have been nominated for this award but to have won it. I’m so proud of what I have accomplished so far. I can’t wait to celebrate it and meet new friends,” said Wells.

The Bloc is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of youths and seniors in Omaha and Lincoln. They are recognized for their 50 under 50 Nebraska Awards and are now hosting the second 20 under 20 awards.

Wells will deliver an acceptance speech at the award reception, which will be held on Saturday, August 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yates Illuminates, 3260 Davenport Street, Omaha, NE.

At Lozafina, we couldn’t be prouder of Wells' achievements. Her dedication to making a difference in her community is truly inspiring, and it’s clear that she is a leader who is just getting started. We are thrilled to be part of her incredible journey and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
