EPIC for Girls distributes 2,000 sports bras and period underwear

EPIC for Girls Executive Director Kim Thomas poses with boxed sports bras and period underwear donated by community members, Access Period and Bras for Girls.

Supporting young female athletes is about more than coaching; it’s making sure they have the products to play confidently, no matter the time of the month.

EPIC for Girls is doing just that with the support of the community, Access Period, and Bras for Girls. On Sunday, February 18, EPIC for Girls distributed more than 2,000 sports bras and period underwear to its partners at Elevator Co-Warehousing + Community at 1402 Jones Street.

EPIC for Girls has 25 community partners dedicated to helping girls of color participate in athletics. Check out all of their incredible partners here

You might be thinking “why does that matter?” Did you know that in Nebraska the Alliance for Period Supplies found that one in four girls missed school because they lacked access to period supplies?

Further, in Nebraska there’s an additional sales tax for menstrual products (what!). Don’t even get us started on how painful it can be to participate in athletics without proper clothing (ouch!).

As a woman and minority-owned company, Lozafina is thrilled to support Epic for Girls.

We encourage you to check out EPIC for Girls online and consider making a donation to support girls in our community.
