This week, Lozafina is celebrating Women’s History Month with Sandy Spady, CEO of Power Up and founder of Women with Voices, passionate about public speaking, inspiring others to dream big, make bold moves, and share their stories.
Sandy Spady has more than 30 years of experience working with executives and building sales teams, recruitment and training, public relations, branding, and fundraising. She has led highly successful teams, opened new companies, created national advertising campaigns, and led successful fundraising events and galas for nonprofits. Additionally, she has written and directed over 300 TV commercials.
Spady recognizes the power of women’s voices and the impact of their stories. In 2021, she launched Women with Voices, an Omaha-based empowerment and networking group, with over 1,200 members, that gives women a platform to share stories of overcoming their toughest challenges and share their greatest successes to empower others.
In 2022, Spady founded Power Up Leadership Consulting and Coaching, where she has made it her mission to bring people together to empower community businesses and organizations to be seen, heard, and thrive.
Aligning with her successful career, Spady has won multiple media achievement awards, including national awards like The Weather Channel Community Involvement Award and the MTV Promotion Award. Spady was also featured in Strictly Business magazine and nominated for and won “50 Over 50” awards.
Spady is a big believer in saying “yes” to everything and was eager to share her wisdom on women's empowerment with Lozafina.
“To me, empowerment means having the confidence to pursue your goals and dreams while inspiring others to chase theirs,” said Spady. “It's about cultivating inner strength and surrounding yourself with support to overcome challenges and live authentically, knowing you have the power to shape your own path and uplift those around you.”
Women with Voices is the epitome of using your power for good and celebrating women’s history all year long. Spady says she has witnessed the incredible power of empowering women to courageously use their voices and share their unique journeys and stories.
“The confidence they gain after sharing their stories is truly inspiring, encouraging other women to step forward and share their own as well,” she said.
In our previous article featuring Gina Ponce, she shared the importance of sharing your connections and knowledge - and Spady agrees.
“Your mind is incredibly powerful, and it’s essential to consistently empower yourself so that you can, in turn, empower others,” said Spady. “Giving back not only strengthens your community but also helps you grow as a leader, connecting you to others and making a lasting impact.”
