Salem Baptist Church and Eazin’ Thunder Motorcycle Club Unite to Provide 300 Thanksgiving Meals to Omaha Families

On Saturday, Nov. 23, Salem Baptist Church and the Eazin’ Thunder Motorcycle Club will join forces for the 14th Annual Turkey Run. Approximately 300 Thanksgiving meals will be prepared and delivered to families facing food insecurity.

The Turkey Run will kick off with a scenic motorcycle ride to raise awareness about the mission to combat hunger. Participants are invited to gather at Salem Baptist Church at 3131 Lake St. at 9 a.m. Riders will head to Target at 4001 N. 132nd and Maple St. before returning to the church, where the food distribution will begin at noon and continue until all supplies are distributed.

"The partnership between Salem Baptist Church and the Eazin’ Thunder Motorcycle Club is a beautiful testament to our community’s spirit of generosity,” said Reverend Selwyn Q. Bachus, senior pastor of Salem Baptist Church. “In times like these, we are reminded of the power of unity. Our hope is that by sharing these meals, we’re also sharing hope and fellowship, helping families maintain their holiday traditions even amid rising grocery costs.”

Each meal includes a turkey and sides such as canned vegetables, stuffing, yams, and cornbread mix—everything needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Volunteers are also needed to help package meals on Thursday, Nov. 21 and assist with meal distribution and traffic coordination on the event day.

Donations of canned goods and other pantry items are welcomed and can be dropped off at the church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Wednesday, Nov. 20.

“Each year, we partner with local churches and Target to ensure more families can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal,” Eazin’ Thunder club member Bryan Mattox said. “This event continues to grow, and we’re excited to keep serving Omaha in the years to come.”
