Apple Jack Festival 2024

It’s time to celebrate apples of all shapes and sizes during the Applejack Festival in Nebraska City.

Start the day off with a pancake feed at the fire station located at 1409 Central. The Pancake Man will be serving up pancakes, sausages, and apple cider from 7:30 am to 10 am. Proceeds will go towards community events.

The AppleJack Fun Run/Walk will start at 7:30 am at Steinhart Park. Proceeds for this event ($35 before August 31, $45 after) will also benefit the community.

If pancakes aren’t your style, the Keeping Room is serving up other breakfast items, like quiche, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast croissants from 8 am to 11 am. Bloody Mary’s, mimosa’s and other cocktails will be available and meals come with a souvenir cup. The Keeping Room will also be serving up Moscow mules, apple sangria and margarita’s until 5 pm.

The annual parade will begin at 1 pm starting on Central Ave.

A carnival will be set up at 6th Street and Central Ave from noon to 11 pm.

There are several craft shows and flea markets including:

  • The AppleJack Flea Market on Central Ave

  • Arbor Crossing Flea Market & Swap & Meet at 1001 Hwy 2

  • Jaycees Creation & Craft Fair at the Nebraska City Middle School

  • Nebraska Eagles Club Vendor & Craft Show at the Eagles Club

  • Sweet Pickins Craft, Venfor, and Maker Market at Lourdes Central Catholic School

  • Heritage Needlework Guild Quilt & Needlework Show

Events throughout the day include:

Morton-James Public Library

  • Used book event from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

  • Writer’s workshop at 10 am

  • Craft & Color from 10 am to noon

Arbor Day Lodge

  • U-Pick Apples & Pumpkins (starts Sept 14th);

  • Live music;

  • Caramel apples, apple slushies, apple donuts, our new sparkling apple cider, and other seasonal apple goodies;

  • Wine & hard cider tasting at the Depot;

  • Food trucks and BBQ at Porter's;

  • Love the Locals Makers' Market the first weekend ONLY ($5 entry - purchase in advance to skip the lines!);

  • Living History at Arbor Lodge;

  • Antique Apple Tasting at Tree Adventure;

  • Performances from Omaha Street Percussion;

  • Antique cider press demonstrations;

  • Woodturning outside the Apple House Market

Camp Catron Adventures

  • Climbing wall, dual racing zipline, quick flight, and adventure course

Ramold’s Pumpkin Ridge Farm

  • Craft fair, food trucks, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides.

Kimmel Orchard

  • U-Pick in the orchard

  • Vendor fair

  • Hayrack rides

  • Education Jamboree

  • Food: food trucks, Apple Cider Donuts, apples, wine tastings, pies, caramel apples, canned and jarred goods
